need to find a place to buy no more than an hour and fifteen minutes from either Albuqueque or Santa Fe/Taos areas or strategically between both. Need at least five acres or exceptionally private if smaller acreage. Looking for a real physical place of beauty, a place of power. Been in Ruidoso a year and a half but I'm pretty ignorant of northern NM? I'll be heading up next week for an initial scout.

Re: Creative Geographic Help?
Fri, May 8, 2009 - 5:27 PMI suggest looking up NM Norh Highway 14. From Albuquerque go east on I-40 to the Cedar Crest Exit and go north. Just drive the road to Santa Fe and back and see if you like it. -

Re: Creative Geographic Help?
Mon, May 11, 2009 - 5:28 AMIt is all beautiful up there, but I think the whole state is beautiful. I own land off of 114 in a subdivision of 5 acre lots. There may be a few left but it is getting too populated for me (does that sound bad?) It is just south of the Pa'ko subdivision where Tom Hanks or someone famous owns property. When I lived there the roads were not paved, but now the main roads are paved. The views are still breathtaking. I can see Sandia Ski slope when I look one direction and the Manzanos when I look another, and at night I can see the lights of Los Alamos and Santa Fe.

Re: Creative Geographic Help?
Wed, May 27, 2009 - 9:03 AMfound a great piece of land an hour south of Grants
but three days of driving so much (O man what an incredibly beautiful state!) I still feel like I only scratched the surface and then I got a DVT from ankle to groin and had to come home after a hospital visit. Now I can't really move from couch again but at least it is not MS and will clear up eventually. I'm trying to deal with paperwork end and I'm considering the 11 acres I saw in Cibola county that already has a well and electric and phone to property line. No hurry on the land, I have a strong feeling that to buy this land is to own it for life. In most every way it would be perfect - my wife could have her "EBSMM" Therapy horses.
